This work invited the public to enter, experience and intimately bond with the building, which houses research into parasitology and drug discovery for neglected tropical diseases. Dear Alan 2023, writen in the artist's hand writing also acted as a very personal way for Emily Fong and Alan Fairlamb to communicate their experimental processes with researchers during their endurance performance, where the pair occupied LifeSpace Gallery for over 100+ continuous hours in November 2022. When entering the gallery space, the writing is back to front. It is only upon fully entering the space and travelling up the stairwell that the writing can be clearly read.
